João Pereira Fernandes opened in 1933 his own company having as its main activity the weaving. The company soon developed and in 1964 its owner decided to move the company for its current location maintaining the same line of business.

At the beginning of
1969 the company became a limited company using the name J. Pereira Fernandes & Filhos, Lda.

In
1970 the company started comprising all the stages of fabrics production: spinning, weaving, dyeing, finishing and production. At that time the target market was Africa. Meantime with Angola, Guiné and Mozambique independence the market suffered some changes and came out several problems such as the funds transfer. Due to this, the company was forced to aim at new markets. J. Pereira Fernandes had to adapt its products to these new markets and today has great success among then.

In
1999 the company changed the name to J. Pereira Fernandes S.A.. On the 1st October, 2009 a reorganization of the group J. Pereira Fernandes, S.A led to a scission of this company, and subsequent establishment of a new one, named J. Pereira Fernandes II, S.A..

Trought continuous investments J. Pereira Fernandes II, S.A. has the aim to modernize itself so that it can achieve a better quality of its products and thus make them more competitive. Nowadays the company produces a wide variety of the home textiles, including:
- Flannel sheets;
- Percales;
- Upholstery;
- Tablecloth;
- Kitchen towels; (…)
